Today is the day we celebrate freedom here in the USA. There are so many ways to consider what freedom means to each of us as individuals, as a community, as a country. Without freedom — physical, mental, emotional — we cannot be our best society, or selves. At Soulstice we invite you to explore your personal freedom with us: beginning with your body, mind and spirit.
FREEDOM FOR BODY
Among the many benefits of Massage Therapy and Yoga, the spaciousness and openness created in the body lead to a freedom of movement and flexibility. With regular practice, you will feel lighter, more free and supple. Bodywork can open the musculature, but also the energetic body and chakras… releasing old knots, soothing injuries and healing traumas. When you feel free and joyful in your skin you’ll naturally think happier thoughts and experience a sense of ease in your daily living. Yoga asanas (or poses) done each morning — along with a regular massage habit — will feel fabulous for your body while simultaneously connecting and integrating the connection between your body and mind.
FREEDOM FOR MIND
Chatter, chatter, chatter. Swirling thoughts. To-do lists. Calendar items. Sound familiar?? Give your busy mind a break with a regular Meditation practice. So many of us try to escape our nonstop thoughts by distracting ourselves with even more activity and stimuli… What if you knew that behind all of those busy thoughts lay an ocean of equanimity, stillness and fulfillment that you could access anytime, all the time? It’s true! Freedom from our incessant thinking-mind is one of the many benefits of Meditation. With regular practice, little by little we grow to feel a wonderful separation between life’s challenges and upheavals and our reaction to those events. Mindfulness increases our freedom and choice in how we respond emotionally to upsets and disspointments and enhances our thoughtfulness and empathy in daily life.
FREEDOM FOR SPIRIT
It is innate in the human spirit to want to flourish, grow and fulfill our potential as individuals. The more you get in touch with your body, mind and spirit through integrating practices, the more sensitive you will become to the quiet voice of your intuition and song of your heart. If you’ve had an amazing massage, floated through a Qigong class, or melted deeply into meditation, you have experienced how these practices can set your spirit free. Creating a sense of spaciousness, safety and stillness within oneself builds a foundation that allows our lives to unfold in a way that’s authentic and true to our soul’s path and purpose. There is no greater freedom than discovering and living our truth — the beautiful practices of massage, meditation, and yoga can help you open the door to what is true for you. We hope you will join us and share in our community — see you soon on the table, mat and cushion!
